Job Description

Position: Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day WFH after 90 days)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (7.5-hour workday)
Salary: $90K+ DOE

Top 3 Priorities:

  • Supporting attorneys in real estate (some transactional), business litigation, and professional liability defense
  • Strong e-filing and calendaring experience
  • Proficiency in TOA/TOC, with excellent computer and proofreading skills
Responsibilities:
  • Provide litigation support to attorneys across multiple practice areas
  • Prepare and file legal documents in federal, state, and appellate courts
  • Maintain and manage case calendars, deadlines, and appointments
  • Draft tables of contents and authorities for legal filings
  • Proofread and format legal documents with high attention to detail
  • Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and correspondence
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients to ensure smooth case progression
  • Utilize legal software including Word (2010+), Outlook, iManage (or similar), CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, and CCC Macros
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience
  • Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and rules
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
  • Experience supporting attorneys in real estate, business litigation, and professional liability defense preferred
