Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Cypress, TX 77429. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Location: Cypress, TX 77429

Duration: 3 Months+

Pay rate: $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm

Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly and courteously the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique(s) using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to the required temperature and place samples accordingly.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
