Job Responsibilities: As the warehouse supervisor, you will plan, direct, and oversee warehouse operations for the agency, ensuring the secure handling of taxpayer data, supplies, and property. This includes supervising staff, coordinating shipments and deliveries, managing surplus and recycling programs, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and agency policies.

Primary Job Duties Include:

  • Supervising, planning, directing, and coordinating daily warehouse operations, including assigning work, monitoring processes, and improving efficiency
  • Overseeing the secure handling, storage, and delivery of supplies, equipment, surplus property, and agency records
  • Managing statewide recycling and surplus programs in compliance with records retention and security requirements
  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, reconciling invoices, and maintaining accurate records
  • Hiring, training, evaluating, and supporting warehouse staff, ensuring compliance
  • Building and modifying office cubicles and coordinating related projects with vendors and agency staff
  • Monitoring workplace safety conditions, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and agency standards
  • Participating in special projects and providing recommendations to improve operations

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree OR a high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services

Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and move boxes and other equipment
  • Valid SC Driver’s license
  • May require some overnight travel or after-hours work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills in the operation of a standup forklift, power pallet jack, and shredding machine
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and SCDOR policies and procedures related to warehouse functions
  • OSHA30 Certification in General Industry
