What you will do

You will provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems (hardware and software) to SCDOR employees.

Primary job duties

  • Providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems (hardware/software) via phones, walk-ins and emails with a focus on security of taxpayer data
  • Logging all technical assistance and support requests into agency\'s ticketing system
  • Monitoring and maintaining ticketing to ensure resolution within established service level agreements (SLA)
  • Creating reports and dashboards of tickets and SLA\'s
  • Assisting in maintaining agency\'s technology related asset inventory databases
  • Creating and updating documentation and procedures within the section as well as documentation for our change control process
  • Training and assisting in training of other technicians
  • Leading, assisting, and participating on teams and special projects

Qualifications

Either: A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems OR an associate’s degree in a related field OR a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Relevant degrees include business related and IT related degrees. Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning

  • Experience in a HelpDesk environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows 10 and higher Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, Outlook, PC hardware, printers, scanners, computer peripherals and mobile devices
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Training: As an IT Customer Support Specialist, you will participate in a training program to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job.
  • Hours: Work hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
