As a member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the general care and maintenance of assigned areas and equipment. Your day-to-day interactions will vary and no two days are alike. Additional duty areas for the maintenance staff include semi-skilled maintenance work in electrical, plumbing, building, and mechanical trades.
Responsibilities
- Primary Groundskeeping Duties: Mow lawns, trim edges, and maintain landscaped areas; weed, water, and fertilize plants, trees, and shrubs; remove leaves, branches, and debris; maintain walkways, parking areas, and outdoor common spaces; operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment; monitor irrigation systems and perform basic adjustments or repairs; perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, and leaf cleanup.
- Additional Building Maintenance Duties (during slower groundskeeping periods): assist with minor repairs (light bulbs, patching drywall, doors/locks); support painting, touch-up, and small carpentry projects; help with basic plumbing or electrical tasks; move furniture or equipment for events or maintenance projects; perform cleaning and upkeep in common areas; assist maintenance staff with preventive maintenance routines.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 40 hours per week with on-call rotation and occasional overtime
Education, Experience And Skills
- Commercial applicators license not required but beneficial
- Experience in grounds-keeping of outdoor areas requiring maintenance
- Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and residents
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and hazard awareness
- Physical stamina to work a full shift
- Ability to work in tight or elevated locations (lifts, rooftops, ladders)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Driver's License
Physical Requirements
- Must work in hot, humid, and cold environments; in tight spaces
- Must distinguish among colors
- Stand for 6+ hours per shift; walk 6+ hours per shift
- Push/pull and frequently lift up to 35 pounds; may lift up to 50 pounds
- Reach and grasp; balance and climbing ability
