Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Waste Collector. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a positive environment for both patients and colleagues alike on site through a professional, efficient, and timely waste collection service.
The role involves collecting clinical, domestic, recycling, and other special waste items from wards and departments, segregating waste streams, weighing and logging clinical waste bins, and collecting soiled laundry. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for providing excellent service.
Main Duties
- Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling, and other special waste items from wards and departments
- Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors
- Weighing and logging of clinical waste bins
- Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments
- Delivery of furniture and equipment as required
Requirements
- Numeracy and literacy skills to GCSE level or equivalent
- Full clean driving licence with C1 category
- Experience of following Health & Safety and waste guidelines
- Customer Service Skills Certificate
- Basic Health and Safety Certificate
