About the Role

The Company is seeking a Department Chair for its Accounting Department. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, conscientious, and strategic leader with a strong commitment to faculty and student success. This role is a 9-month tenured faculty appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, with a 2-2 teaching load. The Department Chair will be responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership, recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty, overseeing course scheduling and instructional quality, managing departmental budgets, and leading curriculum development and accreditation efforts. The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution, a sustained record of scholarly research, and excellence in teaching. Preferred qualifications include prior administrative experience, involvement in curriculum development, and professional certifications such as CPA or CMA. Applicants for the Department Chair position at the company should be prepared to engage in a range of activities that support the academic and professional development of both faculty and students. This includes addressing student concerns, supporting student success, and coordinating with the Accounting Advisory Board and external stakeholders. The role also involves representing the department within the college and university and may include other duties as assigned by the Dean. The company is an equal-opportunity employer and encourages candidates with a passion for education and a dedication to the field of accounting to apply.
