Assistant Professor of Engineering Science The Department of Physics and Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2026 in support of its Engineering Science program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean/Coastal engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Proven expertise and research interests in the field of Ocean/Coastal engineering are required. Special preference will be given to applicants with interdisciplinary qualifications or experience. Start-up funds will be available to establish a research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students. Responsibilities and Qualifications

Establish research agendas that involve undergraduate students. Teach introductory engineering courses and upper-level courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. Engage engineering students through active advising and mentoring of extracurricular groups. Possess a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean/Coastal engineering, or closely related field by the time of appointment; demonstrated expertise in Ocean/Coastal engineering. Demonstrate potential for interdisciplinary collaboration and research. About Coastal Carolina University and the College
