Overview

Delivery Driver position at Scandinavian Designs | Dania Furniture. Location: 8250 Castleton Corner. Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt. Position Pay: $22/hr.

What You Will Be Doing

• Be the face of our brand to customers for in-home and on-site furniture delivery and assembly. Deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
• Act as the Brand Ambassador during deliveries for Scandinavian Designs | Dania Furniture.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service while delivering high-quality products to customers\' homes and businesses.
• Be proactive in offering solutions including furniture assembly or repairs and other added value services as needed.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
• Drive large box trucks safely and courteously, following all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
• Maintain a timely delivery schedule, and contact customers via phone, email, and text to confirm delivery details.
• Inspect delivery vehicles pre- and post-trip to ensure vehicles are in top condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, and adhere to Department of Transportation regulations including Hours of Service (HOS).
• Ensure safe and professional transport and delivery of all products, including: loading/unloading safety, proper assembly, ticketing, preparing staging areas, reviewing invoices, maintaining inventory, and removing packaging materials.
• Assist with showroom changes, tag merchandise, and maintain displays to keep showroom and backroom clean and orderly.
• Greet clients and answer phones promptly, professionally, and politely; continue to build product knowledge to assist customers.
• May require driving long distances with occasional overnight stays (Per Diem provided when applicable).

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of successful experience in customer-facing roles.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CDL preferred but not required. Employment in this role is dependent on maintaining all DOT and driving certifications if applicable to the location.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. unassisted regularly and assemble furniture.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to read invoices and use systems to serve customers effectively.
• Proficiency in using a hand truck, basic assembly, and safely operating small power tools.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification (required at some locations).
• Working hours include weekends and holidays with flexibility; occasional overtime and travel to other locations.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings: drug screen, physical (including DOT Medical Card), background check, and motor vehicle record check; position may be subject to random and post-accident drug screening.
• Must complete non-disclosure agreement as part of employment.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED; 2+ years’ work experience driving is a plus.
