Local Delivery Driver for a wholesale distributor based in C hattanooga , TN. This is a direct hire position with Automation Personnel Services, a family-owned electrical wholesale distributor dedicated to providing the best customer service in the United States since 1983.

Overview

This is a local delivery driver role supporting a wholesale distributor. The position involves driving a delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations, assisting with customer service and sales, loading delivery vehicles, and processing documentation for shipments and orders.

Schedule and Hours

7:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday (hours are flexible).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations.
• Assist with customer service and sales, including answering phones, greeting customers, and servicing the sales counter.
• Load delivery vehicles and assist customers with will-call pickups.
• Process documentation necessary to ship inter-store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests.
• Receive, process and store incoming product shipments.
• Ensure shipments are inspected and damages or shortages are noted on trucking company delivery documents; initiate freight claim procedures when necessary.
• Check incoming delivery contents against packing lists to verify accuracy and completeness of deliveries.
• Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• 6 months’ experience in warehouse operations in a wholesale environment.
• Experience driving a forklift and other equipment.
• Experience with computer or barcode-driven inventory management systems.
• Lift 50-75 lbs during the workday (office assessment will be given).
• High School diploma or GED.
• 401k after qualifying for employment; profit sharing plans also available.
