Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer – South Bend, IN (Onsite)

Reports to: VP of Operational Excellence

Work Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Location: South Bend, Indiana

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder only (ITAR restricted)

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply Lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
  • Design layouts for equipment and workspace to optimize flow and space utilization.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs for management planning.
  • Communicate production schedules and capabilities to support operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors on product specifications, equipment, and material purchases.
  • Lead technical upgrades, equipment installations, and tooling implementation.
  • Participate in contract reviews for major projects.
  • Evaluate products against specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct health and safety reviews for new or modified equipment.
  • Travel as needed for business purposes.
  • Demonstrate and uphold TKMNA Employee Attributes and Competencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience with repetitive and build-to-suit manufacturing
  • Proven success managing large, complex projects
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset

Preferred:

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Salary Range: Pending (will be competitive and aligned with experience)
  • Work Environment: 100% onsite at our South Bend, IN facility
  • ITAR Compliance: Only U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders will be considered
