Inside Higher Ed is hiring: Custodian in Mantua Township

Performs varied and routine tasks involved in cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Does related work as required.

This position will typically work 5:00am to 1:00pm.

Examples of Duties:

• Performs regular custodial duties in assigned area(s) of building(s).
• Accept instructions from head custodian/supervisor verbally or in writing.
• Washes and cleans windows and floors. Strips, waxes and maintains tile floors.
• Dusts desks, tables, chairs, and other furniture.
• Vacuums and, when necessary, cleans carpets.
• Empties trash.
• Keeps restrooms and lavatories supplied with towels, tissue, and soap.
• Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.
• Projects a positive image for the College with his/her team, whenever the public, guests or visitors are in the building
• Reports needed repairs to his/her supervisor.
• Moves furniture when necessary for cleaning purposes or rearrangement of rooms.
• Supplements grounds staff as essential personnel with snow removal in general care and maintenance of outdoor areas as required.
• Assists in basic maintenance repairs and tasks as needed.
• Performs other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Formal secondary education (high school diploma or GED preferable)
• Six (6) months of related work experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders
