Overview
Full-time Welding Technologies Instructor at Tallahassee State College. This position is in the Division of Workforce Development and focuses on delivering welding instruction, supporting student success, and staying current with industry regulations.
What You’ll Do
As a Full-time Welding Technologies Instructor, you’ll help lead the Welding programs, create an ideal learning environment, balance discipline with support, and transfer knowledge to students while staying abreast of evolving industry regulations. Scheduled work hours are 40 hours per week during the day with some evenings.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Deliver welding instruction to a diverse student population, prepare students for AWS certification, manage course materials, support student learning, ensure compliance with educational standards, and assist with program logistics and job placement.
- Assist with recruiting students, marketing the program, and identifying community partnerships and funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with other Welding instructors to identify maintenance and repair needs, determine further action, and log equipment.
Qualifications
- At least a recognized high school diploma or equivalency; preference for those with a vocational/technical certificate in Welding.
- At least three (3) years of work experience in the field.
- Knowledge of welding equipment and techniques; dependable, responsible, self-starting, and able to positively interact with diverse populations.
