Quail West has 678 single-family home-sites, of which the majority are built on large expanses of common area and preserves. Club amenities include 2, 18-hole Arthur Hills designed championship golf courses and practice facility, 8 tennis courts, 4 pickle-ball courts, 4 bocce courts, a 125,000 square foot clubhouse, including 3 restaurants, banquet facilities, professional shop, locker rooms, spa and salon, a full-service fitness facility, and other recreational facilities.
Position Summary
The Director of Court Sports (DoCS) will lead and manage his/her department to ensure a superb member experience and an attractive, well-maintained facility. He/she is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the racquet facilities, bocce program and the Racquets Pavilion. The DoCS is expected to lead the professional staff and supporting team, as well as provide information, recommendations, and leadership to the Court Sports Committee. Ongoing, well-articulated and candid discourse is expected and required with the COO and the Court Sports Committee. The DoCS is expected to routinely play/teach tennis and pickle-ball and regularly collaborate with the maintenance staff to assess court conditions in order to help ensure that they are consistently excellent. Continuing education and staying at the forefront of research and technology are necessary for success. The DoCS will provide creative leadership and foster a culture of continuing education and development of future court sports professionals. The DoCS must consistently demonstrate sincere and engaged visibility with members and staff, a genuine love of sport and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
Educational and Certification Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Physical Education, Sports & Recreation Management or other related fields is preferred
- RSPA and/or PTR Certified, Master or Elite Professional
- Membership in, or certification from, the National Association of Club Athletic Directors and/or Club Management Association of America (desirable)
