Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries in Blytheville, AR, is seeking a Tooling Set-Up operator capable of learning multiple task job stations. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Tooling Set-Up operator ensures production goals are met with a focus on uptime, product quality, and overall mill performance. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Pay: $25 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus

What You’ll Do

  • Assembles and sets up roll train and production tooling for upcoming sizes.
  • Inspects tooling for damage and/or wear, and reports findings.
  • Works from rolling schedules and/or tooling coordinator instructions to ensure proper rolls and tooling are set up for upcoming size changes.
  • Greases and lubricates roll train before sending to the mill.
  • Inspects and washes rolls, spacers, chock assemblies, and shafts as they come out of the mill.
  • Inspects inductors and impeders for damage; replaces as required.
  • Checks for bad bearings and replaces as necessary.
  • Stores rolls properly.
  • Performs daily lift truck inspections and reports any defects or irregularities.
  • Maintains up-to-date root diameter information on roll train.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintains regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule.
  • Leads and promotes health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

Who You Are

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Completion of military service is considered equivalent to a 2-year degree.
  • Tube mill manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; basic computer skills; able to read measuring devices and perform basic math.
  • Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Visual acuity to read and record numerical data accurately.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Physical Abilities

  • Regularly stands, walks, uses hands, handles or feels, and reaches with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull; can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs physically demanding tasks as required in a manufacturing environment.
