Required Qualifications
- One year of recent CNA experience
- Valid CNA registration in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements
Summary
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and supports patients with daily needs. They assist with activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and monitoring patient conditions, while collaborating with nurses and healthcare teams.
Essential Work Functions
- Record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Provide mobility assistance (repositioning, transfers, ambulation)
- Assist with feeding and meal planning as needed
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families
- Document patient care and observations accurately and timely
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; computer literacy
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move, lift 50-100 lbs, push/pull, and bend

- Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment
- Mental flexibility to manage deadlines and variable schedules
