General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, respects fellow Associates, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks as needed to support customer service and store operations.

Essential Functions

• Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets Customers and assists with merchandise and questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; maintains professionalism.
• Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; answers service calls promptly and involves Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
• Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and well-merchandised presentation.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and adheres to presentation guidelines.
• Understands Loss Prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguards confidential information and proceeds with responsible handling of cash and merchandise.
• Follows MOS policies and appropriate disposal procedures; handles transactions accurately.
• Demonstrates urgency and maximizes productivity by following store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
• Stockroom shift: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
