General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, respects fellow Associates, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks as needed to support customer service and store operations.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets Customers and assists with merchandise and questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; maintains professionalism.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; answers service calls promptly and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and well-merchandised presentation.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and adheres to presentation guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information and proceeds with responsible handling of cash and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies and appropriate disposal procedures; handles transactions accurately.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shift: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
