Overview

Accountant role at Nuvance Health. The position maintains the records for network company(ies) and assists with related financial statements, tax returns, budgets, and abandoned property forms, when assigned. Assists with maintaining fixed assets including processing purchase requisitions, disposals, transfers, and supporting renovation projects. Assists in closing and reconciling subsystems to the General Ledger, when needed.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of Accounting Manager, analyzes, compiles, and arranges data into computerized systems to generate financial data for management; prepares financial statements and other reports as needed by management.
• Prepares daily cash reports, as assigned.
• Prepares budgets and tax returns, as assigned.
• Performs monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and analyzes income statement accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data; correct reconciling items on a timely basis.
• Maintains abandoned property records and files all necessary forms with the proper state authorities, as needed.
• Assists in maintaining the Asset Management System including processing purchase requisitions, processing disposals and transfers, and reconciling asset management systems.
• Assists in closing and reconciling subsystems to the General Ledger, when needed.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Competent in MS Excel & MS Word; competent in accounting functions; minimum three years of experience.
• Desired: Experience in Lawson and Asset Management Systems.

Working conditions

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coordination; sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. of force. Generally pleasant working conditions.
