Principal Systems Engineer - Control Systems at HiArc HiArc engineers and manufactures complex medical technologies with a focus on tailored, high-performance solutions. This role is a senior, individual-contributor position in the Control Systems group, a start-up within an established medical device development organization. Responsibilities

Provide technical input for complex design & development projects Design, implement and deliver high quality, robust embedded control systems Create, maintain, and review technical documents and reports (design specifications, architecture, performance analysis, simulations) Drive system requirements with the engineering team and decompose into engineering requirements Plan, lead, or conduct experiments to evaluate operating characteristics of breadboards, prototypes, or products; translate results into design criteria Work directly with internal and external customers to provide guidance for sound system-level solutions to custom control systems Ensure component reliability based on supplier specifications and designs Apply systems engineering best practices and develop reliability models for electromechanical sub-assemblies Collaborate across software, systems, electrical, and mechanical engineering and with Project Management, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support to deliver projects on time and budget Prepare project requests detailing proposed engineering work costs and product timetable Provide application engineering support to customers and assist in troubleshooting Support Verification and Certification by defining and supervising testing and reporting results Provide technical presentation support and consultation to marketing Represent the company in customer communications Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with at least 9 years of experience in systems engineering and control system design Knowledge of engineering theories, principles, and practices with creativity for new inventions or techniques Experience with real-time feedback loops, control systems, PID tuning, and electromechanical design Expertise with system design for electromechanical systems, including stepper and servo motors Previous experience with design for medical devices preferred Familiarity with design of test equipment and fixtures preferred Skills & Abilities
