Who We Are

The Office of the County Attorney is among the premier local government legal offices in the United States. Representing one of the nation’s largest local governments, with an annual budget that presently exceeds $7 billion, attorneys in Office of the County Attorney are called upon to handle a wide variety of matters, many of which involve exciting and novel areas of the law. The Office provides legal advice and representation to all County departments, agencies, instrumentalities, boards and commissions, including the County Council, and all their employees.

The Office also provides legal defense for cases involving Montgomery County and other governmental entities which participate in the Montgomery County Self-Insurance Program and all their employees.

The Division:

In addition to the County Attorney and the Deputy County Attorney, personnel in the Administration Division consist of non-attorneys who provide clerical, secretarial, budget, finance, and information technology support for the Office.

Who We Are Looking For

The Office of the County Attorney is currently recruiting for an experienced full-time manager to provide information technology services for the Office. The IT Manager position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of information and technology systems within the Office of the County Attorney, including applications managed by the County IT Department. This role involves managing the organization's technology operations, implementing IT strategies, and ensuring that the IT systems are efficient, secure, and reliable. The IT Manager works closely with other departments and senior management to align IT goals with the organization's objectives.

Vendor Coordination: Experience working with contractors and negotiating costs. What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies that support the organization's business goals and objectives. Team Management: Lead and manage the IT team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff. System Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's IT systems. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to staff and departments. User Training: Provide user training and develop training documentation. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers. Security Management: Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures. Project Management: Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the organization's requirements. Change management: Align IT initiatives with organizational goals. Compliance and Policies: Ensure that the organization's IT practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on IT performance, projects, and initiatives to senior management. Minimum Qualifications

Education - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible professional and hands-on experience in information technology, application, database, and project management.

Preferred Criteria

Experience in working with legal professionals to manage their IT systems. Experience in providing hands-on training to users and developing training documents. Experience in planning and managing the department’s information technology resources and requirements. Experience in managing IT projects and providing guidance to developers. Experience in working with Microsoft 365, Office Suite, Cloud Services, SQL database, and Windows Servers. Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) or related fields. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
