The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating and optimizing programs for 3-axis lathes and 3/5-axis CNC mills used in precision aerospace manufacturing. The ideal candidate will support production through accurate programming, technical problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering teams. This role is integral to ensuring product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and compliance with detailed specifications. Key Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for production. Interpret and apply technical drawings to machining setups. Model cutting paths using CAM software to maximize accuracy and efficiency. Analyze part prints to determine tooling, speeds, and feeds. Adjust machine settings and cutting paths to maintain output and quality standards. Perform program verification using Vericut software prior to release. Support machine operators during first article runs and troubleshooting. Collaborate with engineers on tooling, setup requirements, and design improvements. Identify opportunities for process improvement to reduce material waste and cycle time. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience, including 3- and 5-axis lathes and mills. Proficiency with Mastercam and Vericut; familiarity with CREO a plus. Prior experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments strongly preferred. Strong math and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed. Benefits
