Benevilla
Benevilla's Home Services program is the foundation of how our organization began over 42 years ago. The Home Services program was created to serve homebound and disabled seniors who lack resources. Individuals, who with a little assistance, are able to stay independent in their home. And staying in their own home is the goal of most of our most vulnerable elderly.
The Home Services program is 100% delivered by volunteers and acts of service include:
grocery shopping
assisted rides to medical appointments
friendly visitors/phone pals
light home maintenance tasks
Food insecurity is one of the biggest fear of our seniors. Volunteers can help these seniors by assisting with their grocery shopping. Some requests have the senior going along to the store with the volunteer. And some requests are for the volunteer to pick up the groceries and bring them to the senior.
Volunteers for Home Services must be at least 18 years old, be able to obtain a level one fingerprint card, pass background checks and provide a clear driving history along with proof of vehicle insurance. The Volunteer leadership at Benevilla will walk you through the process.
