Overview
Finance Technology is seeking a Sr. Data Engineering Manager to support our financial platform team (ownership of various SaaS and custom code applications). You are a highly technical leader with a bias toward action and a passion for shaping an empowering culture. Your leadership will be pivotal in our Finance and Sales Transformation effort, taking calculated risks to guide your team in adopting new technologies and ways of working. This includes building a new sales data pipeline to support future Sales Audit and other enterprise functions. Your work will be instrumental in fitting this vision into our broader data platform enablement goals leveraging Google Cloud Platform. Responsibilities
Assist in enhancing FinTech vision and strategies to support company goals. Guide and motivate a highly talented team to deliver quickly and predictably, adjusting in an agile fashion to deliver efficient technical solutions aligned with business needs. Support an "inverted pyramid" leadership model by mentoring and enabling your team to take ownership of their work. Transition from heavy reliance on offshore contractors to a high-performing on-site team that feels supported and motivated to succeed. Manage complex scope of work with multiple tracks, including operational excellence within a true DevOps model. Contribute to architecture, coding, test plans, project plans, deployment planning, and operations to drive excellence and lead the team toward its goals. Partner with Program, Product, and Business teams to establish short-term goals and a long-term vision, including OKRs and other success measures. Develop growth plans with engineers based on opportunities, competencies, and our Tech Talent Framework. Hire capable and motivated talent/teams that can deliver swiftly and predictably in alignment with business needs. Ensure the team has the tools, resources, and information needed to be successful. Own end-to-end cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning, and project execution. Qualifications
10+ years of data or software engineering experience, or equivalent. 5+ years of managing a team. A BA/BS in Computer Science or a closely related degree, or equivalent practical experience. Deep familiarity with multi-cloud ecosystems, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, and Azure. Experience exploring and implementing AI and ML capabilities within data pipelines. Hands-on experience with relevant technologies such as Vertex AI for pipeline development and Looker for dashboarding and reporting. Direct experience with major ERP platforms, specifically Oracle Cloud ERP (Fusion, MFCS, and IMCS), and integrating with their data models. Experience owning and operating both business-critical SaaS solutions and custom-coded systems serving internal and external customers. Ability to hold teams accountable to engineering standards and work with design advocates to review technology solution designs. Experience in Finance Technology and/or Retail domains is a plus.
