This position is a site-based role with the opportunity to work at one of our three locations: Oakwood Village, Ohio; Madison, Wisconsin; or Tewksbury, Massachusetts. What you will do
Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality applications. Participate in architecture and code reviews to ensure flawless performance. Prioritize features and bug fixes to successfully implement project goals. Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers. Stay updated with industry trends and continuously learn new technologies. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding products. How you will get here
Education
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent experience with 7+ years of related experience in Java development, including Java Spring Boot and microservice architecture. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Java & Spring Boot: Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+) with deep experience in Spring Boot for building scalable, cloud-native applications. REST API design and development: Knowledge of security, performance, and maintainability best practices. Object-oriented principles, design patterns, and data structures. Testing: Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito. Databases & Persistence: SQL databases and persistence frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA); data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning. Cloud & AWS: Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, IoT Core); cloud-native design principles and CI/CD pipelines. Frontend & UI Development (Plus): Exposure to Angular or other modern JS frameworks; experience building browser-based UIs with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; TypeScript and Node.js a plus. IoT & Emerging Technologies (Plus): Knowledge of IoT concepts and platforms such as AWS IoT Core. Software Engineering Practices: Experience in Agile Scrum environments; proficiency with GitHub or other VCS, Jira, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions); familiarity with reporting frameworks is a plus; strong collaboration and mentoring skills for leading technical discussions and architecture decisions.
