Responsibilities
Evolve the long-term SysOps and hybrid cloud strategy, aligning infrastructure decisions with enterprise growth goals, digital transformation initiatives and enterprise standards. Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of secure, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud-native environments. Establish governance frameworks for cloud usage, cost management, and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA where applicable). Oversee availability, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and system performance. Ensure proactive monitoring, incident response, and business continuity practices are in place. Partner with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Finance to support application modernization, infrastructure-as-code initiatives, and vendor/license optimization. Develop and enforce enterprise-wide policies, standards, and best practices for systems management, observability, and operational excellence. Lead, mentor, and grow a team of system administrators and engineers, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, and leadership development. Serve as the senior escalation point for high-impact technical incidents. Guide root cause analysis, resolution, and long-term prevention strategies. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on system health, risk posture, incident trends, and progress on key initiatives. Own budgets and cost accountability for SysOps platforms, tools, and vendor services. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred), or equivalent experience. 8+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or cloud operations, including 3–5+ years in a leadership role. Skills
Deep expertise in AWS (primary), with exposure to Azure, and proven success in managing hybrid architectures and executing cloud operations. Hands-on knowledge of automation and configuration tools such as Terraform, or AWS Systems Manager. Strong understanding of observability stacks (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk) and incident management frameworks (ITIL, SRE practices). Proven track record in managing cloud spend and resource utilization across large-scale environments. Experience with enterprise system operations, automation execution, and CI/CD pipeline management. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity operations, identity and access management, and compliance implementation. Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid teams (onshore, offshore, and vendor-based) with strong mentoring and people-development skills. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including operational reporting and decision-making under pressure. Operationally focused mindset with the ability to execute efficiently while maintaining system reliability in a fast-paced environment. Licenses & Certifications
