Overview Join Peraton in advancing safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's BNATCS contract. We are seeking an IT Technician to serve as a trusted advisor and technical authority responsible for troubleshooting, installation, configuration, and optimization of hardware, software, and networks in federally contracted environments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software.

Oversee field activities and ensure IT systems are maintained to FAA and federal standards while supporting NAS modernization.

Serve as primary SME for troubleshooting complex technical issues across enterprise environments.

Oversee network connectivity, user support, and system integration activities.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and best practices.

Mentor and guide junior IT technicians to ensure consistent service delivery.

Support hardware refresh, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.

Ensure IT environments comply with FAA standards, cybersecurity policies, and federal regulations.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for recurring issues.

Provide on-site and remote support for multi-site FAA locations.

Provide backup, recovery, and continuity-of-operations (COOP) support.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship Required.

Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or Master's degree with 6 years, or Associate's with 10 years, or high school diploma/equivalent with 14 years of experience.

Proven expertise in hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS in enterprise environments.

Familiarity with Active Directory, group policies, and user account management.

Knowledge of endpoint security, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

Experience with ticketing systems and ITSM processes (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience.

Experience supporting federal IT systems (FAA, DOT, DHS, or DoD).

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, A+, Network+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP.

Experience with FAA NextGen modernization programs or NAS IT environments.

Familiarity with cloud and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware, Hyper-V).

ITIL service management familiarity.

Experience in aviation or safety-critical IT environments.

Familiarity with automation/tools scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Compensation & Benefits Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. Salary is based on scope, experience, location, and other factors. May include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus where applicable. EEO: Equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veterans.
