Operations Manager at Vequity, LLC
| Streamlining Operations, Driving Growth Vequity a retail real estate investment and development company is seeking a full time Senior Project Accountant/Controller. The position is responsible for all accounting functions at the project level including budgeting, forecasting, day-to-day accounting tasks, bookkeeping, and accounting policies. Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting functions for multiple development projects from land acquisition through stabilization/disposition Prepare, monitor, and analyze project budgets, pro formas, and financial forecasts to ensure alignment with underwriting assumptions Manage job cost accounting, including coding, allocations, and variance analysis across development phases Review and approve vendor invoices, draw requests, and subcontractor pay applications for accuracy and compliance with contracts Coordinate preparation and submission of lender draw packages, equity partner funding requests, and investor reporting Track and report on construction financing, capital contributions, interest reserves, and loan compliance requirements Oversee accounting for joint ventures, including capital account tracking and waterfall distributions Manage cash flow projections at both the project and corporate level, ensuring liquidity planning for development activities Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring adherence to internal controls and best practices Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, consolidations, and reconciliations Prepare and present project and company-level financial statements to executives, investors, and lenders Collaborate with development, construction, and asset management teams to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, loan covenants, and partnership agreements Support audits, tax return preparation, and external reporting requirements Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance Minimum 4-6 years of experience in real estate accounting Ability to multi-task and work in a small business atmosphere Ability to work without constant direction Extremely detail-oriented with solid communication skills, both verbal and written Employment details
