The AVP of Finance will play a critical role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires a unique blend of
FP&A expertise
and
technical accounting knowledge , with a deep understanding of the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will be a proactive business partner, capable of translating financial insights into actionable strategies. Key Responsibilities
Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory insurance accounting standards. Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams to support financial modeling and profitability analysis. Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs to support executive decision-making. Manage regulatory reporting and liaise with external auditors and regulators. Drive process improvements and automation across finance functions. Support M&A activity, capital planning, and strategic initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred. 8+ years of progressive finance experience within the insurance industry, ideally in P&C. Strong background in both FP&A and accounting, with proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Deep understanding of insurance financial statements, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems and BI tools a plus.
