Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY Preferred Travel Group is a global organization. The Senior Accountant, Payroll is responsible for managing international and domestic payroll, including audits and tax related functions. This position will create and handle journal entries, reconcile accounts, evaluate internal controls and processes and make recommendations to ensure best practices and an efficient payroll environment. This is a hands-on position that requires a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail and focus on customer service. Organizational Relationship
Under the general supervision of the Director, General Accounting, the Senior Accountant, Payroll works closely with People and Community and interfaces with all departments and levels in the company to ensure payments are properly made. Responsibilities
Payroll – Domestic and International : Accurate and timely administration of all payroll data using multiple ADP Comprehensive Services and ADP Streamline systems for US and international payroll data. Prepare and audit various weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end payroll reports (benefit deductions, gross payroll, hours worked, W-2’s, etc.). Prepare payroll reports as requested by management, such as overtime cost reports, payroll fluctuations, etc. Prepare and enter journal entries related to payroll. Reconcile all general ledger accounts related to payroll, benefits, and insurance. Manage and maintain all employee payroll records and reconciliations of payroll registers to the general ledger including all necessary journal entries. Manage and process domestic payroll executed by ADP every two weeks. Manage and process the monthly payrolls with foreign payroll providers in 15 foreign countries including contractors. Adhere to payroll laws, best practices and make recommendations for process improvements. Ensure benefit deductions and tax codes are accurately established and processed timely. Reconcile leave of absence pay, prepare 401k and FSA funding reports, and ensure benefit deductions and tax codes are accurately established and processed timely. Provide wage garnishments to ADP, address and assist in the resolution all payroll inquiries from ADP. Manage time card process ensuring that all necessary time cards are entered by processing deadlines, communicate with employees and supervisors as necessary to enforce compliance. Process all employee expense reimbursements via payroll Responsible for accurate tracking of global vacation and sick leave per Company policies and recording of financial liability by journal entry. Ensure accurate deductions for retirement related plans, manage financial responsibilities of the plans and timely reporting including Form 5500 and annual audits. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. 5-7 years in payroll and general accounting. International payroll experience a plus. Prior experience with payroll accounting including journal entries and reconciliations as well as ADP payroll systems is required. Must be self-motivated, accountable and operate with minimal supervision in an independent role. High integrity, professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality is essential Exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, accuracy, deadlines and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills Intermediate Excel skills required. Experience with MS Dynamics Great Plains preferred. Experience working with external auditors a plus. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-pace and team-oriented organization. Working Conditions
This role follows a hybrid working model with a base out of the Preferred Travel Group Chicago office location. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Associate is seated most of the time. PTG Required Training
