CV Resources has partnered with a client in the healthcare industry in search for a detail-oriented and reliable
Payroll Specialist / Accountant . This role will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and supporting accounting functions related to payroll and employee benefits. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
Maintain payroll records, employee data, and timekeeping systems.
Ensure compliance with all applicable wage, hour, and tax regulations.
Calculate and record payroll entries including wages, benefits, and deductions.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and support year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.).
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
Collaborate with HR on onboarding, terminations, and benefits administration.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits with professionalism and accuracy.
Assist with audits and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Support the accounting team with additional tasks such as month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
4 years of payroll and accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Paylocity, or other payroll/accounting systems.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, reconciliations).
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity.
The position will be working a hybrid role in Santa Ana. Opportunities for growth exist for someone who can participate in process improvements and ad hoc projects.
