Virginia University of Lynchburg is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Financial Aid Counselor to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities
Advise students and families on financial aid options, including FAFSA, loans, grants, and scholarships. Process and review student aid applications in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Maintain accurate student records and collaborate with admissions and registrar staff. Provide guidance to students on financial literacy and loan repayment. Utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with institutional systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering). Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work full-time, on-site in Lynchburg, VA. Starting salary typically ranges from $20,000–$30,000 for candidates without a degree. Candidates with Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degrees may qualify for higher pay based on education level. Generous time-off and holiday benefits.
