Overview

The Senior Auditor is responsible for leading and managing the audit process to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. This role involves planning and executing audits, assessing risks, testing internal controls, analyzing financial data, and clearly communicating findings and recommendations to management. The Senior Auditor will oversee and enhance audit procedures, while serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits. Key Job Responsibilities

Lead financial audits, both internal and external, by preparing required schedules and responding to audit inquiries. Conduct internal audits in accordance with auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and established governance frameworks and procedures. Review internal processes, transactions, documentation, and systems to assess compliance, evaluate effectiveness, identify issues, and develop actionable recommendations. Plan and manage audit engagements, including creating audit programs, assigning tasks, and setting deadlines. Maintain Internal Control Matrix to ensure separation of duties and minimize probability of misstatement. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, preparing necessary documentation and reports. Perform risk assessments to identify control weaknesses and areas of significant financial or operational risk. Stay current on accounting standards, auditing regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy. Prepare complex financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts. Support the month-end close process by researching discrepancies, preparing closing entries, maintaining schedules, and posting reconciling entries. Perform detailed account reconciliations and complex analyses of subsidiary ledgers against the general ledger. Analyze financial data using advanced spreadsheet skills to validate information and support decision-making. Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing data analysis and financial insight. Provide training and guidance to junior staff or cross-functional teams on accounting policies, procedures, and best practices. Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in financial operations. Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of financial information in accordance with company policies and industry standards. Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a Major in Accounting or a related field Strong Financial Management/Economics/Accounting acumen 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis roles, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment 3+ years of hands-on experience conducting internal audits, risk assessments, or compliance reviews Proven experience preparing and analyzing complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Experience coordinating with external auditors and preparing audit-ready documentation Background in developing or improving internal control procedures is a plus Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
