Overview Space Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer Program Protection to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Responsibilities You will design and implement system security controls for advanced space systems. This requires enterprise-wide knowledge of capabilities, resources, supply chains, and third-party operations to develop a plan to protect the program. Specific responsibilities include:
Develop program protection implementation plans
Conduct security review groups to govern the secure execution of a program
Perform criticality assessments on the architecture in support of supply chain risk management
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses across all levels of the system lifecycle
Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications through functional and requirements analyses
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of engineering experience, or Master’s Degree with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years
Active DoD Top Secret clearance at time of application and ability to obtain/maintain SCI access
Experience with DoD or IC Systems Security Engineering activities
Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC
Knowledge of the product development lifecycle and system-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle
Experience developing systems architectures
Experience working across a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
Active SCI clearance
MS in systems or cyber engineering
Experience with DoD or IC Space Programs
Experience performing criticality analysis; CPI and CC assessments
Experience developing and implementing program protection plans
Experience developing and implementing supply chain risk management plans/assessments; understanding of NIST SP 800-161
Experience with RMF for IC and DoD
Understanding of Anti-Tamper, TEMPEST, and Nuclear Surety standards in relation to cybersecurity
Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills; works well in a team
Compensation and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00
The salary range is a general guideline; actual offers depend on factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may apply. Eligible employees may receive annual bonuses and long-term incentives in certain roles.
