FP&A Analyst — Financial Planning Analyst Southwest Houston - Potential for hybrid schedule. Only candidates local to Houston will be considered. Responsibilities
Consolidate monthly financial statements from all operating companies in a timely and accurate manner; prepare schedules for monthly financial packet and internal reporting purposes. Provide analysis into financial statement trends; work with reporting entities on discrepancies or anomalies that need to be explained, or items that need to be reclassed to maintain consistent month-to-month financials. Integrate newly acquired entities into financial reporting upon acquisition; create mappings for new operating company GL codes after acquisition to consolidate into financials and Power BI. Assist with weekly and monthly flashes and data gathering as needed. Create charts, graphs, and ad-hoc reports to analyze various financial situations using ERP, Excel or Power BI; experience with Excel macros is highly desirable. Maintain annual financial budget model for all entities, adding new companies upon acquisition; manage SG&A and balance sheet modeling for individual operating companies. Provide support for and maintain slides for the monthly financial reporting package distributed to the Board, including financials, KPIs, budget vs. actuals, and other metrics. Reconcile variances between our financial reporting and board reporting on a monthly basis as needed. Develop and maintain cash flow forecast. Leverage ERP systems and current tools to drive automation and efficiency in financial consolidations. Review and/or complete bank compliance documents and analysis (e.g., quarterly covenant, quarterly financials, MD&A, excess cash flow) as required by the bank. Work on complex analysis projects within the Finance department as needed. Potential to work on data gathering projects to support Power BI implementation, ERP system data updates, etc. Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related analytical field from a four-year college or university. Minimum 2 years of related experience required; 3-5 years preferred. Experience working with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) required. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Macros highly desirable. ERP experience. Senior jurisdiction
