Purpose
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of the Company’s financial records. This role exists to support the integrity of the financial statements, drive process improvements across accounting operations, and provide the foundation for effective decision‑making by management and other stakeholders.
The Role
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for owning key accounting processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting both recurring close activities and strategic initiatives. Core responsibilities include:
Cash Reconciliation:
Monitor daily bank activity and reconcile against recorded transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Revenue and AR:
Coordinate billing, collections, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate order management and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
Fixed Assets:
Maintain fixed asset subledger to ensure accurate asset capitalization, classification, depreciation, and disposals.
Leases:
Assist in preparing new lease schedules and maintain monthly lease entries in compliance with ASC 842.
Month-End Close:
Lead month-end activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of general ledger accounts for accuracy and appropriate classification.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
Technical Accounting:
Research relevant guidance in the FASB codification and draft technical accounting memos to support compliance and documentation.
Coordination with Third Parties:
Serve as the liaison with external auditors, tax preparers, and other professional service providers; prepare PBCs and manage communications.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file sales/use tax and property tax returns; support preparation of annual tax filings and related schedules.
Ad-Hoc Projects:
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and development of new reports and workpapers to strengthen the control environment and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
Bachelor e29s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public accounting and industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842
Proficiency with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems, and strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
Preferred Qualifications CPA certification (active or in progress)
Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm experience
Experience in a manufacturing or technology environment
Demonstrated success driving process improvements and leveraging systems/automation knowledge, skills, and abilities that differentiate top talent
Standard office setting with occasional extended hours during month-end close and audit periods
Sedentary role with extensive computer work and frequent interaction across departments
Fast-paced, growth-oriented company environment requiring adaptability and initiative
Pay Range
$104,040 - $143,055 USD
