Our well-regarded client is seeking a
Controller
to manage all facets of the company's financial operations, encompassing corporate accounting, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control systems. The Controller will guarantee the precision and reliability of financial information, lead initiatives to enhance processes, and deliver strategic financial analysis to facilitate company expansion.
Compensation Base pay range:
$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Manage the creation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports in alignment with GAAP standards.
Examine financial reports and statements, delivering key insights and analysis to executive leadership.
Track company cash flow and assist the Chief Financial Officer in shaping financial planning and strategies.
Support long-term financial planning efforts, including evaluating growth opportunities, new product development, and investment considerations.
Keep abreast of market shifts, competitor movements, and industry trends to guide financial strategy.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Work closely with department leaders to develop annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts.
Evaluate budget performance, detect patterns, and suggest cost-efficiency improvements.
Financial Close and Compliance
Direct the financial close processes at month-end and year-end to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Organize and oversee external audit activities, ensuring all required documentation is provided and questions are addressed.
Maintain adherence to tax laws and reporting obligations, working with outside tax professionals as needed.
Develop and strengthen internal control systems to protect assets and maintain regulatory compliance.
Operational Improvements and System Enhancements
Identify areas for operational improvement and introduce best practices to boost accuracy and efficiency.
Spearhead the rollout of updated accounting platforms or system enhancements, ensuring team readiness and seamless transitions.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Guide and support the Finance team, including functions such as Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
Promote a collaborative, results-driven environment within the Finance function.
Define team performance objectives, deliver consistent feedback, and encourage career development.
Partner with other departments to align financial support with organizational goals and initiatives.
Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership to offer financial guidance that informs strategic decisions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Active CPA license preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline
Minimum of 5 years working in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
Skilled in using ERP systems and accounting platforms
Proven track record of leading teams and implementing process enhancements
Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal control frameworks
Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and managing cash flow
Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills
Background in multi-unit hospitality or retail preferred
