Vice President for Administration and Finance
Overview: The Vice President for Administration, Human Resources and Finance is a member of the President's executive leadership team with responsibilities for budgetary and financial accountability as well as the Human Resources function. This role entails developing and executing financial and administrative strategies to support and advance institutional priorities. The position requires strategic vision, strong leadership, integrity, and effective communication with internal and external audiences. Responsibilities
Strategically vision and execute robust financial oversight of the university's financial and administrative operations, including fiscal planning, budget development and control, accounting, purchasing, inventory, information technology, human resources, facilities management, environmental safety, auxiliary services, contract administration, and risk management, with the application of AI as appropriate; Provide oversight for all human capital functions and activities, with an emphasis on attracting and retaining talent; Provide campus leadership for facilities planning and construction, capital budget planning and analysis, and internal controls for fiscal and legal compliance; Represent the University on budgetary and administrative matters with state and federal governments, the Board of Trustees, private sector, and the general public; Cultivate a consultative working relationship with faculty, staff and student governance groups and committees in program and policy development. Qualifications
Master's degree in business, finance, economics or an advanced degree related to the role; Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible administrative experience with demonstrated vision, collaboration, service orientation and entrepreneurial approach to financial and business policy development; Commitment to being a collaborative and supportive colleague within an executive leadership team; Experience in strategic, comprehensive, multi-year budget development and implementation; knowledge of financing techniques, financial and ratio analysis; familiarity with business and finance operations; Ability to simplify complex financial information for varied audiences and articulate the university\'s financial vision and needs; Experience with strategic planning, campus master planning, and applying critical, conceptual, and strategic thinking to financial, academic and administrative issues; Proven ability to guide budget managers in making informed decisions and to collaborate across units; strong negotiation and policy-review skills; Commitment to fostering a community of belonging within the division and campus, and to the university\'s mission as a student-centered institution; Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
