Accounting Manager, College Foundation

Broward College This position supports the accounting and financial operations of the Foundation’s Finance Department. Under limited supervision, the purpose of the job requires the application of accounting practices and theory for compound complex accounting processes in order to complete period close requirements provided for each function area and to perform standard accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance processes, accounts payables and receivables, project process and reconciliation, investments and financial reporting. Employees in this job classification are responsible for analyzing financial and operating data and preparing management reports and financial statements as necessary. Position acts as a back-up to the Controller of Broward College Foundation as necessary.
Responsibilities Responsible for accounting and financial operations within the Foundation’s Finance Department, including period close, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and accounts receivable, project processing and reconciliation, investments, and financial reporting. Analyzes financial and operating data and prepares management reports and financial statements as necessary. Acts as a back-up to the Controller of Broward College Foundation as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in Business or Accounting
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Six years of relevant experience, at least four years in accounting and finance
Experience using accounting systems to perform accounting and financial functions
