Greenwich, CT (In-office, Mon-Fri; Summer Fridays remote) Reports to:

VP of Finance Our client is a rapidly growing firm seeking a highly capable Assistant Controller to support the financial operations across multiple entities. This role will work directly with the VP of Finance and play a critical role in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analysis to support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation within alternative investments or commodities and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting. Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting functions: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with US GAAP

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Analyze financial data to support business decisions and improve performance

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning

Support audit and tax processes, acting as liaison with external partners

Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as the team grows

Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and systems enhancements

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

5+ years of accounting experience (public/private mix ideal)

Prior supervisory experience preferred

Strong technical proficiency (Excel, financial systems; QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)

Experience with consolidations and intercompany transactions

Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
