We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Payroll Specialist to join our administrative team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with labor laws, and supporting HR functions within our growing nonprofit. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of payroll systems, and a commitment to supporting our mission-driven team. Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll for staff and teaching artists. Maintain accurate payroll records, employee files, and timekeeping systems. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Assist with HR functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, and employee inquiries. Collaborate with finance staff to reconcile payroll reports and prepare documentation for audits. Provide excellent support to employees while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Qualifications
2+ years of experience in payroll processing or HR administration (nonprofit experience a plus). Knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or similar). Familiarity with labor laws and payroll regulations. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Why Join Us?
