What You Will Do

Collaborate with partners to define computing requirements based on standard architectural solutions with strong background in NetApp, storage networking, backup software and tape library systems. Work with storage architects, program leads, and end-users to design end-to-end solutions based on program requirements including hardware and operating system technologies. Integrate and partner with programs, network engineering and HPC teams to solve complex infrastructure problems. Ensure high reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management with a deep understanding of data storage performance requirements. Respond to online service requests from users. Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework). Experience with NAS and/or SAN data storage products with emphasis on NetApp FAS systems including ONTAP installation, storage/configuration, data migrations, command line proficiency, software upgrades, log analysis, high availability, inter-cluster connectivity, disk-to-disk backups, and health monitoring. Communicate and work with the Program Architectural team, mission area DTPLs, end-users, Network Engineering, HPC, hardware & software vendors. Gather storage requirements for capacity, performance, space & power availability; create updates and status reports for management; attend regular project meetings. Manage FC based tape library systems: hardware/software installation, cabling and fiber channel connections, target configuration. Champion the Storage & Data Protection standard and establish yourself as the backup software SME. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize client servers and their data to be backed up; monitor and track backups, troubleshoot and resolve failed backups. Cycle and track tape inventories; install and upgrade system hardware and software. Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve computing environments. Maintain and grow technical competence across Windows, Linux, virtualization, user authentication, DNS, NFS, and system imaging/build automation. Mentor teammates and provide timely updates to management on project lifecycles. Ability to obtain required DoD 8140/8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 1 year of hire date. Systems are operational 24x7 and may require work beyond standard hours. Qualifications you must have

Bachelor’s degree with typically 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. Start date will not be issued until interim clearance is obtained. Experience with Storage and Data Protection systems; experience with Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows operating systems. Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with RAID based storage systems (NetApp, Veritas, CommVault, Veeam) and backup software. Strong Excel skills; experience operating in an Agile Scrum environment. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure knowledge; system update/patch management (WSUS, SCCM, Chef, Puppet, Exchange). Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Retina) and security/compliance tools (ACAS, Nessus). Experience with virtualization (VMware vCenter/vSphere/ESXi); knowledge of TCP/IP; scripting/programming experience. Security+ certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment; familiarity with thin client technologies and Centrify for unified OS account management. What We Offer
