AAS - Assessor & Intake Supervisor

in our Aging and Adult Services department who supervises and directs Title XIX CM Intake and Assessor teams, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of staff performance and achievement of program metrics. Maintains oversight of daily program operations, quality assurance ensuring services provided are in compliance with the agency, contract, and regulatory standards and requirements. Develops collaborative relationships within the team and with external social service providers. Provides support to Title XIX Program Manager and Director of Aging and Adult Services in strategic program planning and development initiatives. The position reports to the Title XIX Program Manager and Director of Aging and Adult Services and offers a schedule of Mon-Fri with no weekend work.

Responsibilities

Plans, supervises, and directs work assignments for bilingual, culturally competent direct-service staff; schedules 1:1 monthly meetings with Intake and Assessor staff to monitor performance, ensures quality and contract compliance; conducts timely performance reviews; approves salary increases in accordance with budget and policies; implements formal corrective action when needed; resolves complaints and grievances.

Coordinates screening, interviewing, and hiring processes; facilitates new employee orientation; develops and implements training programs; identifies and coordinates professional development initiatives; provides ongoing staff consultation; facilitates professional consultation with external subject matter experts as needed.

Oversees WA Cares contract implementation, ensuring full contract compliance and maintaining expert understanding of WA Cares reporting and requirements. Partners with the Title XIX Program Manager to develop educational/outreach materials and timely monthly reports and billing documentation.

Collaborates with Title XIX Initial Assessment and Intake Coordinators to support QA and process improvement; creates and submits monthly Front door reports to Finance and Director of AAS; supports client service excellence standards and initiatives.

Represents the Title XIX Intake and Assessor team in internal/external meetings; facilitates monthly team meetings and ongoing training to ensure alignment and consistency.

Acts as back-up for the Initial Assessor and Intake Coordinator during leaves; provides field training and home visit support for new employees; assists with initial case reviews to support QA and timely processing of assessments.

Partners with Title XIX Program Manager and Director of Aging and Adult Services on strategic program planning, grant proposal writing, and audit preparation.

Position Qualifications

Education and Experience: Master’s degree (social work, behavioral or health sciences preferred) with 1 year paid social service experience and 1 year direct supervisory experience with bilingual/bicultural skills, OR Bachelor’s degree in social work with 3 years paid social service experience and 2 years direct supervisory experience with bilingual/bicultural skills, OR Bachelor’s degree in behavioral and health sciences with 4 years paid social service experience and 2 years direct supervisory experience with bilingual/bicultural skills. Completion of Case Manager training program including State sponsored CORE Training.

Cultural Humility: Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds; provide respectful, quality care and services responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices.

Knowledge and Skills: Fluency in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander languages preferred; multilingual/multicultural communication valued. Proficient customer service with empathy and patience. Strong time management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work under pressure and supervise multilingual staff. Knowledge of social case work principles and aging service delivery systems.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other relevant software; able to research and perform tasks via the internet.

Additional Requirements: Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and insurability under ACRS auto policy if using a personal vehicle; compliance with all agency policies.

Working Conditions This position is hybrid, with work divided between remote and on-site locations. Approximately 50% on-site (including home visits) and 50% remote. May involve sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Moderate noise level.
