As a Construction Senior Project Manager, you are a highly experienced and strong leader responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects from inception to completion. This role demands a deep understanding of construction processes, regulations, and project management. The Senior Construction Project Manager provides strategic direction, leads project teams, makes high-level decisions, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with executives and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may have direct reports.
Responsibilities
Communication:
Oversee and support the project team's regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor project teams, contractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Team Collaboration: Collaborative approach to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
Contractor Relations:
Oversee and support the project team's communication with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to coordinate orders and deliveries.
Leadership:
Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring project objectives are met.
Project Planning:
Oversee and support the project teams with comprehensive project plans through construction and post-construction, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder requirements.
Site Management:
Oversee and support the project teams with site logistics, including layout, access, and coordination of contractors and suppliers.
Progress Tracking:
Oversee and support the project teams with project milestones, tasks, and deliverables, addressing any deviations and ensuring project timelines are met.
Resource Allocation:
Oversee and support the project teams with allocating and managing resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project objectives.
Issue Resolution:
Oversee and support the project teams with project-related challenges promptly, collaborating with stakeholders to find solutions.
Regulatory Compliance:
Oversee and support the project teams with compliance to building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Risk Management:
Oversee and support the project teams with potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for smooth progress.
Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to changing project needs, handle unexpected challenges, and adjust plans accordingly.
Quality Control:
Oversee and support project quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and stakeholder specifications.
Environmental Considerations:
Awareness of environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
Budget Oversight:
Oversee and support project costs, change orders, and allowances, adjusting to stay within budget limits.
Documentation:
Review, expedite, and monitor project documents (reports, schedules, invoices, ASIs, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, punch lists, inspections, closeout, and stakeholder presentations).
Reporting:
Project status reports, updates, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Implement best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements for continual improvement across projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Knowledge & Skills
Construction Processes:
In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and best practices.
Project Management:
Scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation principles.
Blueprint Reading:
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications.
Building Codes and Regulations:
Local, state, and national codes, permits, and regulations.
Safety Procedures:
PPE, hazard identification, and safety guidelines.
Construction Safety:
Knowledge of site hazards and mitigation.
Collaboration:
Team collaboration with cross-functional groups.
Project Documentation:
