Senior Manager, Strategic Government Contracting

In this role, you will develop a strategic vision to enable Beckman Coulter Diagnostics to maximize US government contracting awards and create annual growth in this complex segment. You will oversee all key contracting with the US Government including the Federal Supply Schedule, VISN’s/VA’s, DHA, Indian Health, and associated Distributors. You will be part of the Government Sales team and report to the VP of North America Sales, Specialty Segments.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
Owner of a $100m U.S. Government contract development process, including planning, organizing, strategy development and execution, prioritization, ensuring compliance, coordinating overall activities, preparing and communicating status reports; identify strategic improvement recommendations; and lead all related tracks necessary for the team to submit complete, compliant, and competitive proposals for all US government contracting.
Tactical guidance to internal cross-functional teams including sales in interpretation, negotiation, and management of complex contract offerings and implementation of strategies to improve profitability, analytics, and the proposal process.
Collaborate with Marketing to ensure the portfolio and key features include Government technical requirements and, in parallel, modify contract terms and conditions to support innovation, new technology, and service offerings.
Work with Beckman Client Services, Informatics and IT to ensure the latest technologies are investigated and deployed in the solicitation and contracting process.
Drive overall contract response accuracy and compliance while developing contract vehicles and approved distributors to exceed revenue and profitability goals and meet established KPIs.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience, or 12+ years of experience with a Master’s degree.
Understanding of contract development, management and negotiating legal terms with experience in conducting business analysis focused on risk management.
Ability to adapt to various people and working styles under tight deadlines. Strong leadership, communication, prioritization, analytical and organizational skills. Capacity to handle multiple objectives and concurrent projects.
Strong communication skills with a customer focus and service orientation. Experience cultivating and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders. Strong internal and external negotiation skills.
Experience with Government contracting in the medical device industry, preferably delivering services to the customer such as sales, customer service, technical support or training.

High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000. This role is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement; additional information will be provided by the interview team.
