The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization. The Financial Controller plays a key role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, ensuring sound financial planning, reporting, analysis, budgeting, compliance, and maintaining effective financial controls. The Financial Controller will lead the Finance & Accounting and Procurement departments and will collaborate closely with executive leaders to provide strategic financial guidance and ensure the financial performance aligns with business objectives and maintains the company’s financial health. Responsibilities
Financial & Procurement Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s financial and procurement strategy to support business growth and operational efficiency. Provide accurate financial analysis and strategic advice to the CEO and Executive leadership team regarding financial and procurement performance to support company goals and strategies. Collaborate closely with Design Leadership to ensure financial and procurement strategies reflect client needs, innovation, and market demand. Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and tax reporting. Prepare timely and accurate reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. Monitor financial performance, profitability by project and client accounts, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. Develop and direct objectives, policies, and processes regarding all Finance and Purchasing functions. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting, ensuring that financial goals are aligned with company objectives, and long-term financial plans. Regularly review budget performance and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency. Cash Flow & Capital Management: Oversee cash flow management and liquidity planning to ensure the company meets its financial obligations. Oversee and ensure accurate job costing and timely invoicing to clients. Track project costs, billing schedules, and change orders. Collaborate with the CEO to manage working capital and optimize the use of financial resources. Assist CEO in negotiating with banks and financial institutions for credit facilities and financing options. Risk Management & Compliance: Develop and implement risk management strategies and internal controls to protect the company’s financial position. Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards, including company policies. Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, banking relationships, and other key stakeholders. Team Management & Development: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting and procurement teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability to ensure high performance. Recruit, develop, and retain top finance & accounting and procurement talent. Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to nurture the team’s skills and growth. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required). MBA, CPA, or other relevant certifications (preferred). 7+ years of experience in financial management role, preferably in a project-based or creative services industry Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and risk management. Proven track record in managing large-scale financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting. Advanced knowledge of financial software Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and manage complex financial situations. Travel as necessary Details
