Overview

Executive Officer, P-2, East Jerusalem, State of Palestine, Temporary Appointment (post no. 134336) at UNICEF. UNICEF is seeking a focused and organized professional to support coordination, management and planning activities for the office in East Jerusalem and the Gaza context. The role may require travel to Gaza and involves handling incoming information, drafting work plans and planning documents to support the team goals. Key Accountabilities and Duties

Support office priority setting and decision making: assist in managing the flow of information to the Special Representative, identify priority matters, analyze supporting documentation and summarize relevant points; ensure appropriate actions are taken by heads of sections/divisions. Confer with section/division Heads to secure timely and authoritative information relevant to matters requiring action, decisions or approval of the Special Representative. Prepare the supervisor for meetings and missions by drafting talking points, briefing notes, researching relevant information, and establishing necessary contacts. Accompany the Special Representative to meetings and missions to prepare notes, track follow-up actions, and provide input as needed. Coordinate drafts of position papers and other documents pertinent to the office activities. Ensure high-level visitors receive necessary background information and that protocol is respected. Develop and maintain a monitoring system to store, retrieve and track critical correspondence, decisions, memoranda and other office documents. Office Planning and Operations

Research, collect and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information to support annual work plans. Collect, draft and organize materials for office strategies to ensure impact, scale and sustainability of achievements/results. Assess and recommend information and materials for office initiatives, ensuring accuracy and quality. Events, Meetings and Conferences

Prepare and maintain office event calendars, reflecting key organizational and partner events and deadlines. Coordinate logistics for events involving senior management; follow up on recommendations and actions from meetings. Prepare background documents and materials for meetings. Qualifications

Education:

A university degree is required in International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or another relevant technical field. Experience:

A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in external relations, public affairs or international development cooperation, preferably within the UN, or in a government institution or NGO. Prior experience in coordination, planning, or an executive office is a critical asset. Language:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language, in particular Arabic, is an asset. Other Information
