Overview The Operations Supervisor oversees and streamlines the day-to-day operations of our floral shop, urban farms, and events. The ideal candidate understands flower farming and sustainable agricultural practices, with experience in retail or floral operations. This role manages the farm-to-vase supply chain, ensuring efficiency from harvest to final arrangement, with responsibilities in inventory, sourcing from urban farms, team coordination, customer service, and workflow optimization.

Responsibilities

Oversee ordering, receiving, and stock management of floral products, farm-grown flowers, supplies, and merchandise.

Collaborate with farm staff to coordinate flower harvesting schedules and ensure product availability and freshness.

Supervise and provide direction to shop staff, including florists, sales associates, and delivery drivers.

Monitor customer service standards and address inquiries or concerns professionally.

Evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Ensure the shop complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, production timelines, and employee schedules.

Support training related to flower care, post-harvest handling, and sustainable floral practices.

Manage and motivate a team to meet operational goals and deliver exceptional customer service.

Collaborate with the farm team to ensure a consistent and high-quality flower supply chain.

Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy, seasonal environment.

Adapt to changes in workload, farm production cycles, and customer demands.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business, horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is a plus.

Proven experience in an operations or supervisory role, preferably in an e-commerce, floral, or agricultural environment.

Basic knowledge of flower farming, seasonal bloom cycles, and post-harvest flower care is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of inventory management and basic budgeting.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office or similar tools.

Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering high-quality floral products.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in both retail and farming settings.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
