NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, an affiliate of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is seeking a
Full-Time Associate Director of Mental Health
to provide leadership, support clinical excellence, and advance our mission of delivering high-quality behavioral health services in a skilled nursing setting.
About Us NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler is renowned for its specialized memory care program and commitment to providing high-quality short-term rehabilitation therapy and long-term skilled nursing services. Nestled on Roosevelt Island, our facility offers a warm and comfortable setting where patients receive exceptional care. From specialized rehabilitation equipment to expert wound care, Coler provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services designed to meet the diverse needs of our patients including comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care.
Responsibilities As the Associate Director of Mental Health at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, you will:
Provide leadership and oversight for psychiatric services within the skilled nursing facility.
Collaborate with medical, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Deliver direct clinical services, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
Supervise and mentor attending psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, and other clinical staff.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and evidence-based standards of psychiatric care.
Support quality improvement initiatives and help shape innovative models of behavioral health care delivery in the long-term care setting.
Requirements
Board Certified in Psychiatry (Board Eligible within 5 years post-residency considered).
New York State medical license required.
Experience in geriatrics, long-term care psychiatry, or consultation-liaison psychiatry strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to academic medicine, and dedication to patient-centered behavioral health care.
