Overview Fresh Fish Procurement & Business Development Manager

Reporting to: Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement

We are a growing company in a dynamic, fast-paced and impactful global industry seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fresh Fish Procurement & Business Development Manager to join our team. He or she will play a critical role in driving the company’s growth, and its ability to stand out in the marketplace through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, and market development in the fresh seafood sector. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish, possess deep knowledge of fresh pelagic species (including but not limited to Mahi, Grouper, Wahoo, Snapper, Tuna, Swordfish, Branzino, Trout, and Corvina), and demonstrate proven success in expanding supply chains and business opportunities across domestic and international markets.

Objectives

Drive continuous growth in fresh fish sales and procurement, in support of the company’s overall goals and objectives.

Expand and strengthen the company’s network of suppliers, with a focus on Latin American and global markets.

Ensure reliable access to high-quality, sustainably sourced fresh pelagic species at competitive prices.

Develop new business opportunities through supplier partnerships, customer development, and market expansion.

Support efforts to design a supply chain that is nimble, agile and market centric, by embodying the Company’s philosophy of beginning with the end in mind – an enjoyable seafood dining experience

Support the company’s commitment to excellence in food safety, quality, and fair labor practices.

Key Responsibilities

Source and procure fresh fish (with emphasis on pelagic species) from global suppliers, ensuring quality, consistency, and competitive pricing.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, particularly in Spanish-speaking regions, to ensure reliable product availability.

Identify and develop new business opportunities, leveraging the company’s supply chain to support growth in both retail and foodservice markets.

Monitor global seafood markets, pricing trends, and regulations to support strategic decision-making.

Collaborate closely with sales, logistics, and Finance to optimize procurement activities, inventory management, and customer service levels.

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve best value and reduce risk exposure.

Represent the company in international business discussions and trade forums, with a strong ability to conduct negotiations in Spanish.

Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability commitments.

Key Skills Needed for Success

Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).

In-depth knowledge of fresh pelagic species and seafood industry supply chains.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade or related field.

7+ years of experience in fresh seafood procurement, sourcing, or business development, with proven success in pelagic species.

Experience in global seafood markets, with emphasis on Spanish-speaking supplier regions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain technology systems (ERP, procurement platforms, etc.).

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
