Lead a multi-functional team coordinating flight test activities with program teams, including establishing flight test profiles, identifying necessary aircraft modifications, and coordinating maintenance and customer demonstration requirements for the commercial transport and business jet markets Manage performance development, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety policies Foster a collaborative team culture to drive predictable program performance and meet business and customer commitments Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the technical spectrum, including customers, program management, and senior leadership Develop team skills through mentoring, career development, role assignment, and hiring Oversee airport flight operations and facility maintenance with flight operations, flight test pilots, and facility support Serve as primary interface with FAA and international regulatory agencies for Collins Aerospace aircraft operations Formulate and implement policies for safe and efficient operations of Collins Aerospace aircraft Provide input to leadership on Flight Operations annual and SFP budget Lead changes to accommodate flight test needs and manage Collins Aerospace aircraft fleet Fly as Pilot-in-Command and Second-in-Command as dictated by flight schedule Help advance Collins Aerospace products to meet customers’ needs for advanced avionic systems What you will learn
Collins Aerospace advanced products and the civil aircraft certification environment Aircraft installation, certification, and maintenance requirements at an airport facility with a fleet of flight test vehicles Leadership and management skills, including hiring, performance evaluation, and personnel management in a competitive certification environment Qualifications you must have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 10 years of experience U.S. Person status required 5000 hours total flight time, 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command, 2000 hours multi-engine Air Transport Pilot License First Class Medical Certificate Leadership and team management experience in cross-functional environments Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with avionics development and aircraft installation, leading requirements, design, project management, and certification 2 years of management experience in aviation Past experience in a corporate flight department CL604 and CL350 Type Ratings Flight Test or Certification history; familiarity with Collins Aerospace avionics Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and scope management Familiarity with ES&H requirements and systems engineering in aircraft certification What we offer
